GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Motorists traveling along I-85 and I-385 Friday night should be aware of some scheduled detours due to the Gateway Project.

SCDOT officials said the detours will be put in place starting at 10 p.m. in order for the concrete deck to be placed on the bridge over I-85.

Drivers traveling on I-385 NB will be forced to take I-85 NB towards Spartanburg exit 36 A. Drivers will then continue on I-85 NB to exit 56 (Hwy 14) where they will keep left to get back onto I-85 SB. Then, motorists will continue on I-85 SB to exit 51, where they can access I-385 NB towards Greenville.

SCDOT said I-85 NB traffic will be directed to take exit 51 A, and then continue north on the Collector/Distributor lanes until they get back onto I-85 NB.

Motorists are being asked to travel with care through the Interchange during construction, observing all signage and devices in place.
