Troopers: 1 dead, 2 injured after car runs red light, crashes into SUV

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said a driver has died after running a red light and getting hit by another vehicle at the intersection of West Blue Ridge Drive and Old Buncombe Road in Greenville County Sunday night.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m.

Troopers said the deceased driver was headed south on Old Buncombe Road when the car entered the intersection on a red light and struck an SUV that was attempting to turn left from West Blue Ridge Drive.

The driver of the car was entrapped and died at the scene.

The coroner identified the deceased as Ronald Scott Fowler Jr., 23, of Edgemont Avenue in Greenville.

The driver and a passenger from the SUV were both injured and taken to the hospital.
