ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina's largest church posted a heartbreaking update about a baby who people across the state had been praying for since her birth on Mother's Day weekend.

A spokesperson for NewSpring Church said the church is rallying around the family of baby Copeland, whose parents are church members.

Copeland was born on Saturday, and after suffering complications, she had very little brain activity or signs of functioning organs throughout her body, the church said.

"We are praying for a miracle of complete and total healing," said communications director Suzanne Swift. "We firmly believe a miracle can happen for this little girl and this family."

NewSpring asked for the entire community to pray for Copeland at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. A few staff members at the Anderson campus led by Clayton King gathered for a Facebook Live to spread the message over social media.

On Wednesday, NewSpring posted an update on Instagram asking for continued prayers for the Capellis, Copeland's parents.

"Today’s MRI results were not good. We loved on Copeland all afternoon and she’s now in the loving arms of Jesus!" the church posted.

A GoFundMe page was started to help the family with the medical bills. After only one day, the page had already gathered $18,773 of a $25,000 goal.

On Wednesday May 16 Copeland went to be with Jesus and is completely healed. The Capellis need prayer more than anything. However, because of a week long journey in NICU and everything they did to try to save her life, this family is about to get hit with unbelievable bills that they shouldn’t have to deal with during this time. However I know we can help if we get the word out! If you can spare, please give to our friends! Any amount will help!
