On Sunday, deputies from the Spartanburg Co. Sheriff's Office responded to an area in the woods where a naked man was seen running.

Upon their arrival, Deputy Littleton said that he located the male sitting in a dense brush area near All Seasons Dr. and Falls Cottage Run in Spartanburg.

According to Littleton, he noticed from afar that the man was completely nude.

After more observation, he saw that the male was eating leaves, berries, and picking the leaves off of plants and eating those as well.

As responding deputies attempted to identify the naked male through questioning, the male was uttering something about a "nuclear bomb" and "Donald Trump." He also went on to say that he wanted deputies to follow him to the "garden of Eden," per deputies.

The naked male stood up after questioning and began to walk away saying, "come on, bring it big boy..." said Deputy Littleton.

Deputies said, at this point he was running away from them through the brush. Once deputies caught up with him, one pushed him to the ground and he became passively resistant. After some struggle from the naked man, the deputies were able to handcuff him.

However, deputies said the male still would not answer any questions and continued to grab weeds/plants/brush with his mouth and chew them.

EMS personnel and the Fire Department had been dispatched to the call in order to tend to the naked male's medical and mental attention, per deputies.

Deputies reported that the man was covered in scratches and cuts and was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center by EMS to the behavioral unit.
