GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After the closure of two Bob Jones University Museum & Gallery locations in 2017, gallery director Erin Jones said the museum will be finding new life off campus.

The Museum & Gallery, which was founded in 1948, had more than 400 works on display and received more than 20,000 visitors per year.

In an announcement on Saturday, Jones said since February 2017, M&G has been developing "a new vision for the collection's future."

Jones said the plan includes a campaign to grow an endowment for a new, off-campus building to house the collection. The exact location has not yet been determined.
