Officials hold ribbon cutting at new Children's Museum in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Children's Museum of The Upstate’s new Spartanburg location will officially open to the public on Saturday.

A a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new location was held on Tuesday.

Officials said the Spartanburg museum is dedicated to early childhood development and kindergarten readiness for children ages birth to five years old.
After the ribbon-cutting, invited guests were allowed to explore the 6,000 square-foot museum's exhibits.

Officials said the public is invited to attend a grand opening festival at the new museum on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will feature food trucks, games, and prizes.

The Children's Museum of the Upstate-Spartanburg is located at 130 Magnolia Street. It is the nation's seventh largest children's museum and a Smithsonian Affiliate.
