Duke Energy working to restore power in Greenville County

MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Thousands of people were without power in Greenville County Wednesday morning after heavy downpours overnight.

Duke Energy reported 2,303 customers without power in the county as of 6:45 a.m.

The largest pocket of outages was in Mauldin, where Duke reported 1,441 outages. The outages were first reported just after 2 a.m.

By 8 a.m. Duke reported that the outages in Mauldin had been restored

791 outages were also reported in the Welcome community along Anderson Road. Duke expects to have those restored by 9:30 a.m.

Duke energy said customers who experience an outage should call 1-800-POWERON to report it.
