SC Attorney General launches new digital drug education program for students

MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson visited the Upstate Thursday to launch a new statewide Prescription Drug Safety initiative for students.

Wilson announced the new program at Mauldin High School.

The attorney general said misuse and overuse of prescription medications and opioids has devastated the state and Wilson said the misuse and abuse often begins in schools.

The new digital prevention education program is being sponsored nationwide by members of the Prescription Drug Safety Network.

The program is offered at no cost to schools or taxpayers.
