FRANKLIN, NC (FOX Carolina) -

According to an arrest warrant, the girlfriend of a western North Carolina high school student charged after a hit list was found has also been arrested.

On May 1, investigators said a Macon County student found a piece of paper entitled "Hit List #2" on a school bus. The district superintendent said the list contained the names of 11 students and a school principal.

A 16-year-old Franklin High School student was formally charged with six counts of communicating threats in connection with the list. According to search warrants, investigators seized a number of weapons from his home after the list surfaced.

His 16-year-old girlfriend was also charged with communicating threats and arrested on May 14.

According to the arrest warrant, when she found out her boyfriend was in trouble she told a detective that she was "going to kill the first two people on the list." Detectives said the threat was made in a manner that led them to believe it could be carried out.
