TAYLORS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A U.S. Army veteran was honored for his service on Tuesday.

Patriot Healthcare organized a pinning ceremony for Sgt. Clarence Epps at his home on West Tyger Bridge Road in Taylors.

Epps is a hospice patient and is also the father of one of Patriot Healthcare's hospice nurses. He was surrounded by family when he received a special medal.

"In my wildest dreams I wouldn't have expected it," Epps said. "This is just something that came and I really appreciate all of these people coming out to do this."

Patriot Healthcare said it is proud to stand with veterans and provide service for those who served.
