COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

United States Attorney Beth Drake said two men from Greenville pleaded guilty in connection with a bi-coastal marijuana distribution ring.

Drake said 30-year-old Jeremy David Grove, 36-year-old Tyler James Durney and 40-year-old Jaspal Singh Grewall of Anaheim, California were charged with following:

  • conspiracy to distribute marijuana
  • conspiracy to launder drug proceeds
  • conspiracy to structure financial transactions

According to court documents, the three men planned to pay for and transport high-grade marijuana from California to South Carolina for distribution.

The indictment stated that in November of 2015, the defendants deposited hundreds of thousands of dollars in drug proceeds into funnel bank accounts. According to the indictment, the transactions were made to get around the bank's reporting requirements and conceal the nature of the transactions.

At the plea hearing, the defendants admitted to using multiple bank accounts to funnel the money from South Carolina for immediate withdrawal in California.

All three men await sentencing.
