ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officials with Anderson Police Department said a suspect is in custody following a chase on Thursday.

Police said they initially got a call about a stolen vehicle, and upon locating the car, activated their blue lights.

That's when police said the vehicle fled.

Police said the suspect eventually got out of the car and fled on foot, but was apprehended and taken into custody.

The suspect's identity has not yet been released.

Police said a patrol car involved in the chase was involved in a crash with another vehicle during the incident. The crash happened on E Greenville Street at N Main Street.

According to the police chief, the officer involved in the crash received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Police said the primary patrol car chasing the suspect vehicle was struck by another vehicle, and the suspect vehicle also hit another vehicle at E Greenville and N Main Street, about 2 blocks from where the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect was apprehended at Tribble Street at Murray Avenue, and is now charged with failure to stop for blue lights, reckless driving and possession of a stolen vehicle.
