Greer police urge residents to lock cars after string of auto break-ins

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greer Police Department is investigating a string of auto break-ins early Thursday morning.

Officers released surveillance video of an attempted auto break-in in the Belshire subdivision off Gibb Shoals Road around 1 p.m. Two suspects were seen walking form car to car and between homes.

In the nearby Chartwell Estate subdivision, police said there were seven auto break-ins with items stolen including sunglasses, a watch, loose change and paperwork.

Police urged residents to lock their vehicles and bring any valuables inside their homes.
