Gamecocks head to Greenville, NC for baseball regional

Greenville, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The University of South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team will head to the Greenville, NC for regional play, the NCAA announced Monday.

East Carolina University is hosting  the double elimination tournament.

The Gamecocks will face Ohio State on Friday, June 1 at 2 p.m. in their 32nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

The game will be televised on ESPN2.

East Carolina and UNC Wilmington will play the second game Friday at 7 p.m.

South Carolina was one of 10 SEC schools to make the field. The winner of the Greenville Regional will face the winner of the Fayetteville Regional in the following week’s Super Regional round.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 9 a.m.
