TAYLORS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The SC Highway Patrol said Stallings Road was closed at Saffron Way in Greenville County Tuesday morning due to downed power lines.

Troopers said the road may be closed for several hours and asked drivers to avoid the area.

The SC Highway Patrol website showed a collision occurred near the intersection just after 2:30 a.m.

Duke Energy reported at least one customer was without power in that area due to a vehicle striking their equipment. Service is expected to be restored by 7 a.m.

FOX Carolina's photojournalist at the scene said the closure begins after a bend in the road, and drivers are having difficulty stopping in time before colliding with the orange cones. Use extra caution in this area.

No other details were immediately available.
