GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The City of Greenville is gathering public opinion on the future of Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Leaders are focusing on the stretch of road between Bob Jones University and Stone Avenue where a lot of new development is coming.  Most notably, the new Northpointe Development under construction there will include residential, office space and shopping including a Harris Teeter grocery store.

City officials and consultants expect to hear suggestions for public sector improvements in the area like better traffic flow, sidewalks and landscaping.

The process started Tuesday, May 29 with an open studio at Greenville City Hall. That’s followed by a public meeting at Bob Jones University Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

There’s another open studio session at City Hall on Wednesday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Then, on Friday the consultant team will present design concepts and recommendations for future improvements to a steering committee.
