SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said a man is recovering from surgery after being stabbed Wednesday night in Simpsonville.

Deputies said they were called to an address on Williams Circle off Goldsmith Road just after 9:30 p.m. and found the victim at the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

"The motive of the stabbing is still unknown at this time, and investigators are working to gather additional information pertaining to the identity of the suspect," Sgt. Ryan Flood said Thursday.

Flood asks anyone who may have information to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 864-23-CRIME.
