PINEHURST, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A bittersweet photo of a North Carolina newborn being held up by her father's Army division is going viral.

Seven months before baby Christian was born, her father, Spc. Christopher M Harris was killed in action. According to Stars and Stripes, the 25-year-old was fatally injured by a vehicle-borne IED in August 2017 while serving in Afghanistan.

Harris' wife, Britt, said she wanted the men and women who served alongside him to meet Christian when she was born.

"Those are the people she should know and be able to see how much they all loved her right from the beginning," Britt Harris said.

Pinehurst Photography took stunning images of members of the 82nd Airborne division at a gender reveal party for Christian - and again holding her together in their arms after she one was born. One of the photos received thousands of likes and shares on Facebook in less than 48 hours.

"They’ve been a part of her life before she was even born and I know they’re going to be around for the rest of her life," Britt Harris said. "No matter where the Army takes them all I will be able to show Christian how they all came together for her."
