The Pickens County Animal Shelter said Daisy was reunited with her owners in Tennessee on June 1.

The dog was found wandering in Pickens County, but she had a microchip, which allowed them to get in contact with the Daisy’s owners in Chattanooga.

Jessica, Daisy’s long-lost owner, said the dog went missing from their yard three years ago.

Jessica's husband is a US Marine. A fellow Marine volunteers to transport the now 6-year-old dog home, a spokesperson for PCAS said.

Jessica said she was shocked when she got a call from the South Carolina animal shelter, and didn’t immediately answer. She said she got a text from the microchip company next, and immediately called back.

The family is concerned about Daisy’s health but said she and the kids picked right back up where they left off.

The animal shelter posted about the reunion on Facebook:
