GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office said a woman has been charged after two businesses were robbed in 24 hours.

Deputies said the incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. at the Check Into Cash at 3209 West Blue Ridge Drive.

They say dispatchers received a call there about a woman who came into the store and demanded cash while threatening the use of an explosive device. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said.

No injuries were reported.

Around 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, a robbery occurred at Advance America on Wade Hampton Boulevard. The incident involved similar circumstances to the Check Into Cash robbery, deputies said, where a female demanded money and threatened to detonate an explosive device.

Deputies said the suspect fled when an employee pressed a panic button. She was taken into custody after a nearby traffic stop and transported to the hospital after complaining of complications related to a medical issue.

On Tuesday, deputies released surveillance images showing the suspect, who was identified as 37-year-old Ashley Danyelle Phelps. She is charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of making a bomb threat and one count of attempted armed robbery.

Deputies said she also tried to rob the Check Into Cash on Pleasantburg Drive, but a manager recognized her from her picture and did not buzz her in.

Phelps is being held at the Greenville County Detention Center and received no bond at her hearing Tuesday night.

Her next court appearance is in July.
