BELTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two Upstate police departments worked together to track down an armed robbery suspect on Monday.

Per Belton Police Chief Tommy Clamp, the Williamston Police put out a call for an armed robbery suspect sometime around 4:15 p.m.

A Belton officer then spotted a vehicle that matched the description and set up a traffic stop on Kelly Street and Pelzer.

Officers say the suspect fled on foot and a chase ensued. The suspect ran down Pelzer Street and onto a baseball field.

He was eventually caught and taken into custody, police said.

The suspect is being evaluated before he is transported to the Anderson County Detention Center.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect's identity has not yet been released.
