CHEROKEE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers say a driver and a passenger were ejected from a vehicle on Monday in Cherokee County after their car overturned, resulting in one fatality.

The collision took place at approximately 5:11 p.m. on Beaver Dam Road near Beaver Ridge Road.

Per troopers, the driver and two passengers were traveling east on Beaver Dam Road when the car ran off the road right, over corrected and ran off the road left and overturned. The coroner said the car overturned several times before coming to a rest upside down.

Both the driver and one of the passengers were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle, troopers confirmed. The driver was flown to Spartanburg Regional where he died in surgery at 7:04 p.m.

The ejected passenger was also injured and transported to Spartanburg Regional by EMS.

Troopers say the second passenger was wearing a seat belt and was not ejected, but was also injured.

At this time we do not know the extent of the passengers' injuries.

The coroner identified the driver as Robert Dennis Guyton, 60 of Gaffney.
