Highs in the 80s continue into the weekend, but rain chances and humidity gradually return as well.
Hot and humid today, with a mostly sunny sky. Highs reach the upper 80s Upstate and lower 80s in the mountains. Most will stay dry, but a few showers are possible across western North Carolina.
Spotty rain remains possible on Saturday, but slightly better rain chances (30-40%) move in by Sunday. Still, highs will hold in the upper 80s with the heat index possibly exceeding 90 degrees.
Next week, a backdoor cold front may approach from the northeast – this means scattered showers and storms become more of a possibility on Monday and Tuesday. After that, rain chances back off slightly to a more typical mid-June pattern (30%).
