Police: Man accused of homicide in Montana charged in connection with death of Asheville woman missing since May

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Asheville Police Department said a man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who had been missing since May.

Officers said 59-year-old Tamara Ann Gibson was last seen May 23 at Bartlett Arms Apartments. On May 28, officers with the Junction City, Kansas Police Department found a deceased female who police say was later identified as Gibson. 

On June 1, her vehicle was found by the Laramie Police Department in Wyoming and it had been damaged by fire.

Asheville Police said 58-year-old Donald Mack Gray, Jr. has been charged with first degree murder, first degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

Officers said Gray is currently in custody in Billings, Montana on first degree murder charges for an unrelated homicide.
