COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - One Republican candidate for governor in South Carolina is singling out a challenger in her latest ads as being soft on abortion and guns.
But ads released Friday by Catherine Templeton's campaign attacking John Warren don't give the full context of his answers.
In one ad, Warren is seen on screen mentioning he needs to give open carrying of guns without a permit some thought. He later said he supported open carry.
In a second ad, Warren is shown at a campaign event saying women should have the right to choose. The full context of the clip shows Warren saying he is speaking about abortions only when the life of the mother is at stake.
The primary is Tuesday. Gov. Henry McMaster appears to be the front runner.
