GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The City of Greenville said construction is set to begin Monday on the PNG connector that will make getting to some Woodruff Road businesses easier.

The connector will be a two-lane road running parallel to Woodruff Road and connecting Verdae Boulevard to Woodruff Industrial Lane. Officials said they will extend existing dead-ends Ketron Court and Green Heron Road to connect the new road with a roundabout.

They're hoping to have it completed by spring 2019 and the project is expected to have a minimal impact on traffic.

Home Depot, Trader Joe's, Target, Academy Sports and Piedmont Natural Gas are some of the businesses located along Woodruff Industrial Lane.

Piedmont Natural Gas is providing more than $1.2 million of the total project coast.
