A suspect is in custody after a foot chase in Greenville on Wednesday, said Greenville police.

Officials with Greenville Police Department shared footage of the incident on Facebook.

Police said an officer had taken a call about a breach of trust after a man was brought by an acquaintance in his car to a chemotherapy appointment. Police said the suspect never returned the victim's vehicle, which he didn't have permission to take in the first place.

Police said the responding officer was completing the incident report when he spotted the stolen vehicle. When the officer saw the suspect get out of the vehicle, the officer took off on foot after him and a pursuit ensued.

The foot chase resulted in a successful arrest, said police. The suspect was examined by EMS and then transported to jail. The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated by EMS, but is expected to work his shift on Thursday.
