Police: A driver is accused of driving impaired when her car struck an Upstate man, crashed into Waffle House

GREENSBORO, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said an Upstate man was hit by a driver who then crashed into a Waffle House in Greensboro, NC.

Ron Glenn, a spokesman for the Greensboro Police Department said Derrick Anderson of Greenwood was struck by a vehicle as he was walking across Big Tree Way.

That vehicle then struck the Waffle House.

About 15-20 people were eating in the restaurant at the time but no one inside was hurt.

The driver, Driver: Kaitlyn Kennedy of Delews Creek, NC, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving, and driving while license revoked.

Anderson was taken to a Greensboro-area hospital and is expected to recover.
