Hot and humid weather continues into Father’s Day weekend with a slightly better storm chance.
Saturday brings isolated showers and storms, developing in WNC initially then drifting slowly into parts of the Upstate toward late afternoon. An isolated strong to severe storm with hail or gusty wind will be possible. Expect highs in the 80s to low 90s with heat index values 94-100° in northeast GA and the Upstate.
Sunday brings a similar forecast to Saturday: a 20-30% coverage of isolated afternoon showers and storms is expected with highs in the 80s to low 90s.
The heat levels remain high and above average into the first part of next week with low rain chances. A slightly better chance of afternoon storms should still develop toward mid-week.
