Seeing Navy jets over the Upstate? They're training at GSP

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

You may see Navy jets flying over the Upstate this week.

Officials at Greenville Spartanburg International Airport said Navy Squadron VT-86 will be conducting training flights at the Greer airport.

The squadron, also known as the “Sabrehawks,” was commissioned in 1972 and is based out of Pensacola, FL.

Officials said the Sabrehawks will conduct approximately 30 flights per day in the Upstate from June 18-29.

Typically, the flight schedule will bet between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. but some night missions may also take place.
