We’ll FINALLY get some heat relief to end the work week with slightly higher rain chances and some cooler air.
Overnight lows will drop into the 65-75 degree range with mostly quiet and humid conditions sticking around.
Thursday brings a better chance of isolated to scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms, some of which could be locally strong. Expect highs to scale back a couple of degrees - into the mid 80s to low 90s.
Friday sees the best chance of scattered to locally numerous showers and storms as an upper-air disturbance swings through the region. Afternoon highs should hold in the 80s thanks to added clouds/rain chances. Some storms again may be locally strong.
A few leftover showers remain possible on Saturday as a weakening front lingers in the midlands, but safe to say it won’t be near as rainy as Thursday and Friday afternoons will be. The rest of Saturday will produce a resurgence of heat with lower 90s and middle 80s after spending Friday in the middle to upper 80s.
Sunday looks much drier (though not completely dry), but hotter with highs rising into the middle 90s in the Upstate thanks to more sunshine.
Monday brings a chance of isolated afternoon storms, but some drier and slightly cooler air moves in toward Tuesday and Wednesday.
