GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Bonnie Brae Golf Club will be closing after more than 50 years of games.

PGA Pro Dale Heflin announced on the golf club’s Facebook page that Bonnie Brae will shut down on July 1.

“It is with great sorrow I am announcing Bonnie Brae will be closing its doors July 1st, 2018,” the post read.  “To all the patrons and members through the years, thank you for your support.
I've made many friendships over the past 28 years through the Pro Shop at Bonnie Brae and cherish them all.”

The golf course opened in 1961, per their website.

Bonnie Brae Golf Club is located at 1116 Ashmore Bridge Road, near SCTAC (Formerly Donaldson Center).

Bonnie Brae posted on Facebook in early June that the freezing winter and wet spring weather conditions had adversely affected the course greens.

Neither the golf club’s Facebook page nor website listed the reason behind the decision to shutter the course.
