Work week will have a return to summer conditions for the area while the Tropics stay active

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Our weather has been beautiful today and will remain very pleasant overnight.  On Monday, we will remain dry but will see a slight return to more summer time conditions. Humidity and heat will continue to build going into the middle of the week. Thus, the chance for scattered mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms returns on Wednesday and lasts into next weekend.

Tropical Storm Chris formed Sunday off the NC coast and is expected to move very little over the next couple of days.  Eventually, the system is forecast to move northeast by mid-week into the open waters of the Atlantic. The forecast continues to call for Chris to become a hurricane by Tuesday.  Other than rough seas and rip currents along the coastline, no direct impacts to the east coast are expected at this time.

Beryl has continued to show signs of weakening, and is no longer a hurricane or tropical storm. It is forecast to bring heavy rain across the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hispaniola on Tuesday. Later in the week, there appears to be an opportunity for the remnants of Beryl to regenerate into a tropical cyclone or storm when the system moves through the Bahamas and into the southwestern Atlantic closer to the Florida coast.  Therefore, we will continue to watch this system very carefully over the next several days.
