The McDowell County Sheriff's Office said they arrested a man after he called 911 to and hung up the phone.

Deputies said 54-year-old Ronnie Eugene Hobbs of Black Gum Drive reported someone was following him, but when they arrived on scene at Bat Cave Road, they saw no signs of another person.

A search of Hobbs led to the discovery of two grams of methamphetamine in his pocket, deputies said.

He is charged with possession.
