GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

BMW took to Twitter on Wednesday night to "clear the air."

After the automaker revealed details on a plan to boost production in China, concerns began circulating about the possibility of BMW moving production to China amid tariff controversies.

Although BMW spoke out against tariffs on auto parts imported from the European Union, they adamantly tweeted they are not moving production to China. According to the tweet, production there is expanding because of customer demand but plans for the expansion of the plant in Spartanburg County are still on track.

BMW's $600 million investment in Greer is expected to create 1,000 new jobs. Click here to read more about the expansion.
