Fire chief: 1 injured in 'accidental laceration' at Gaffney meat packing plant

GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Gaffney fire chief said his firefighters and EMS responded to an accident that injured one person at a meat packing company.

Dispatchers said the accident occurred around 11:48 a.m. Thursday at Brown Packing Company on Willis Street.

Chief Jamie Caggiano said the victim suffered an accidental laceration and was flown to the hospital.

The chief did not have additional details.

According to Brown Packing's website, the company is a beef packer that harvests cull cows and bulls from across the southeast.
