GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the sentencing of a registered sex offender in Greenville County for soliciting a minor.

The Attorney General's Office said Danny Wayne Long pleaded guilty to one count of criminal solicitation of a minor and one count of dissemination of obscene material to a person under 18.

According to the Attorney General's Office, Long posted ads on Craiglist in search of young females for sex in July of 2015. Investigators created an undercover account of a 14-year-old girl and made contact with Long.

Investigators said Long then sent a sexually explicit image to the account and solicited her for sex on multiple occasions.

Long traveled to a Burger King in Travelers Rest to meet the 14-year-old for a sexual encounter.

Upon his arrival, Long was arrested and taken into custody.

Long was sentenced to six years in prison.
