The watch is in effect until Wednesday night. The weather service reminded drivers that if they come across a water-covered roadway, they should turn around and find an alternate route to their destination.FOX Carolina chief meteorologist Kendra Kent said that the low-pressure system that caused all the heavy rain on Wednesday will continue moving to the northeast and out of the area. She said that there are still a few lingering showers behind the system, but nothing like what the area saw during much of the day.Kent said that by the time the rain ends early Thursday morning, some locations may have received as much as 3 inches of precipitation.Kent said that skies will clear on Thursday, but cold air moves in on Friday. She said that the clouds return on Saturday along with a chance for snow in the mountains and a mixture of rain and snow in the Upstate.
