Position: Local Sales Account Executive
Department: Sales
Reports to: Local Sales Manager
Group/Location: Broadcasting/WHNS
Position Summary: Advise clients on marketing and advertising strategies, develop new television accounts, negotiate advertising rates, and professionally convey the benefits of television advertising on a network affiliate.
Minimum Qualifications: All must be met to be considered.
Education: High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
Experience: Two years Business-to-Business outside sales experience preferred. National and Local television media experience a plus. Strength in developing new local direct business a major plus.
Specific Knowledge: Computer skills essential (Word, Excel, PowerPoint or other comparable software). Knowledge of the following computer software is preferred: Wide Orbit or other traffic systems, TV Scan, Scarborough, CMR & Qualitap.Skills and Abilities: Good communication skills and the ability to work with and provide outstanding service to both internal and external clients. Must be able to work under extreme pressure. Must consistently prospect for new business and monitor competitive media. Consistently keep aging in sixty (60) days or less. Comfortable making presentations for large and small groups. Organization, communication and follow through skills, as well as superior computer skills required. Skilled at listening for buying signals. Desire to achieve goals, objectives and be competitive.
