Writer/Producer

Position: Writer/Producer

Department: Promotion/Creative Services

Reports To: Creative Services Director

Group/Location: Broadcasting/WHNS

Position Summary: Candidate will conceptualize, write, shoot, produce and edit commercials for on-air spots. Collaborate with sales and station clients on the production of commercial spots.

Minimum Qualifications: All must be met to be considered.

Education: High School diploma required. College Degree in communications or journalism preferred.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years producing, directing, writing, editing and shooting commercials.

Specific Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of studio and location equipment operations will be needed to produce and direct assigned projects. Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro non-linear editing systems as well as graphics and animation programs.

Skills And Abilities: Good communication skills and the ability to work with and provide outstanding service to both internal (sales) and external clients (advertisers). Strong organizational skills. Must be able to work under extreme pressure and make quick decisions and recover in the event of technical difficulties in order to meet scheduled deadlines. Must be able to lift equipment weighing 50 lbs.
