COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Alex and Buster Murdaugh announced on Friday that they are offering a reward for information regarding the murders of Paul and Maggie Murdaugh.

Officials say that the reward is $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in the murders.

Alex Murdaugh said in a press release, “I want to thank everyone for the incredible love and support that we have received over the last few weeks. Now is the time to bring justice for Maggie and Paul.  Buster and I, along with Maggie’s mother, father and our entire family, ask that anyone with helpful information immediately call the SLED tip line or Crime Stoppers.”

The law firm of the family will administer the reward, according to officials.

Alex Murdaugh, Paul’s father and Maggie’s husband, contacted Colleton County dispatch on June 7 at 10:07 p.m. to report that he discovered the two victims shot outside their hunting lodge along Moselle Rod. in Islandton, SC.

Deputies with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately and found that both Paul and Maggie had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. During this time, SLED was requested to assist in the double murder investigation by CCSO.

SLED says that agents arrived to assist on scene at around 12:07 a.m. on June 8. The agency confirmed that it is continuing to pursue all leads related to the case.

Additionally, SLED says they have established a 24 hour tip line for this case. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call (803)-896-2605.

The total reward amount will be allocated equally among the people who provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime, according to officials.

The person claiming the reward must submit the tip on or before September 31, 2021, according to officials. They add that law enforcement personnel are not eligible to receive the award.
