Coroner identifies victim from Anderson County crash

PENDLETON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of the crash that occurred on Monday afternoon
The crash happened on Liberty Highway near Murphy Road at around 12:15 p.m. The victim was treated at the scene and then airlifted to Prisma Health in Greenville. Sadly, the victim later passed away at 1:27 p.m.
Deputy Coroner Brent Simpson identified the victim as 60-year-old Stacey Simmons from Central, SC.
According to the Coroner’s Office, Simmons was traveling along Liberty Highway when she went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the crash.
