Crews battle multiple fires in western NC

MARION, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Hankins Fire Department says they responded to multiple structure fires in the Hankins North Fork on Wednesday night.

According to the department, there were three structures on fire just after 6:45 p.m. Two of the structure fires were fully involved. Fire crews also said there were three additional exposures and a small brush fire.

Multiple fire departments from McDowell and Burke County responded to the scene. They were able to save the structure that was partially involved.

They also said there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
