ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said they were responding to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex when they heard shots fired nearby on Saturday.

According to deputies, a call came in just after 7 p.m. Saturday, regarding reports of a shooting at Meadow Run apartments on Abbeville Highway. Later around 10 p.m., deputies heard shooting nearby along Abbeville Highway.

As deputies tried to stop one of the cars involved in the shooting, the Sheriff’s Office said the driver would not pull over and a chase began.

We’re told deputies managed to forcefully stop the suspect’s vehicle on White Street Extension near the Connivence Center. The suspects took off on foot, however, deputies detained three.

The Sheriff’s Office said during the chase, one deputy made a U-turn and his car was hit by another deputy’s patrol car. Thankfully, both deputies were alright and taken to the hospital as a precaution to be assessed.

Deputies said no injuries were reported for both incidents.
