ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The grandfather of missing toddler Quinton Simon has reportedly been killed in a hit-and-run in Burke County.

According to Burke County Sherriff’s Office, they found a “deceased white male” lying off the roadway between Claxton Road and Brigham Landing Road at approximately 7:20 a.m. Nov. 2. They believe he was hit by a vehicle around 5:30 a.m. and the driver left the scene.

A woman named Melissa Johnson Moss posted on Facebook that the man who was killed is 61-year-old Henry Dale “Bubba” Moss Sr., grandfather of the missing toddler.

This is the latest tragedy for Quinton’s father Henry Moss Jr. In addition to his father’s death this week and his son’s presumed death, Moss Jr.’s mother also passed away recently.

Police are still looking to identify the driver. Anyone with information should contact the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at 706-554-2133 or J.Wylds@BCSO-ga.org.
