Coroner identifies man shot to death in Greer

GREER, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greer Police Department said officers are investigating a shooting that killed one person on Tuesday night.

According to officers, they responded to the area of Turner Street and Lorla Street after a 911 call reported a disturbance at around 8:40 p.m. They added that as they headed to the scene, another 911 caller said they heard gunshots in the same area.

Officers said they arrived at the scene and sadly found the victim dead.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Demetrius Dwight.

Officers stated that they are still investigating the situation with the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office and trying to figure out who was involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Greer Police Department at (864) 848-2151.
