Multiple apartments damaged following fire in Anderson
ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Anderson Fire Department said multiple apartments were damaged after a fire on Saturday night.
According to officials, the fire happened off of Marchbanks Avenue at around 7:45 p.m.
Once on scene, officials said they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from two apartments on the upper floor. Anderson Police and other officials worked to alert and evacuate the residents from adjourning apartments.
They were able to contain the fire in about 45 minutes.
Officials said two apartments were destroyed and ten others sustained smoke and water damage.
Broadway Fire, Hopewell Fire and Whitefield Fire departments also responded.
