Deputies: Suspect calls 911 on himself after shooting one in Spartanburg
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said a murder suspect has been arrested after calling 911 on himself.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to Barnwell Road around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a victim on the ground beside a vehicle.
Deputies said witnesses told them there had been a a verbal altercation between the victim and the suspect that others on the scene had broken up. When the victim turned to walk away, the suspect shot the victim several times and fled the scene.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Tyler Tanner of Boiling Springs.
Officials said the suspect called 911 and said he shout the victim, drove to the sheriff’s office and turned himself in.
The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Justin Enrikus Jackson.
Jackson has been taken to jail and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
