CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Clemson Police Department (CUPD) said Saturday they responded to reports of an individual with a firearm on campus property.

CUPD said the person was reported in the area of Mell Hall.

Officers said they responded to that location, where an individual was taken into custody without incident and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on university property.

The CUPD says the individual was non-threatening and compliant with officers.

“CUPD reminds everyone that if you see something, say something,” police said, “And report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.”

The suspect was identified as Benjamin Allen Wemp. He was granted a bond of $25,000.
