Sydney Hoover joined the WECT news team in November 2022 as a multimedia journalist.

Sydney grew up in the suburbs of Kansas City. She graduated from the University of Kansas in December 2022 with a degrees in journalism and Spanish and a minor in sociology. While in college, Sydney worked for the KU student newspaper, interned in the Kansas State Capitol with newspapers like the Kansas City Star and the Topeka Capitol-Journal, and spent a semester studying the Spanish language in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has lived in Wilmington since May 2021.

Outside of the newsroom, Sydney loves spending time at the beach with her dog Sylas, reading, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs.
